In part one of this series, we saw how God created man in His own Image and endowed him with authority to have dominion over other created beings.

Now, the question is: if we have received this authority being created in His own image, why then are we still subject to the manipulation of the enemy?

Have we seen ourselves as real sons and daughters of God?

The original man God made in the beginning was to express His glory here on earth.

The original man was created to represent God. We can say that the image of God in man was lost at the fall.

But we should also remember that the restoration of the image was carried out at the cross.

The enemy of man is Satan, whose main assignment is to cause him to deviate from his destiny and forfeit God’s promises.

But when we are genuinely born again, Satan can no longer dominate our spirit, which is re-created with the Spirit of God.

It is only the Truth that can set man free and return man to his original state.

Jesus is the Truth. “Whatever is born of God overcomes the world and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4).

This will of God in us shall only be possible, as we release ourselves for God to make us in His image as it was in the beginning.

Even at the stage of being born again, the soul and body of man, especially the soul (his will, mind, emotions and attitudes) are subject to manipulation by Satan. This explains why we need to have our soul restored and regenerated constantly as David did: “He restoreth my soul” (Psalm 23:3).

Note: We allow our soul to be restored by allowing the word of God to dominate our attitude, minds, thoughts, and our emotions. It is the word of God that restores our soul.

“Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you” (James 1:21).

As we feed on the Word of God, it saves, delivers, protects, heals, preserves, and makes whole our soul.

When we drift from the word, we give Satan access to our whole being. What gives access to the devil is our unredeemed and unrenewed mind (Soul).

It is only through the Ministration God’s Word, that the spirit of God can constantly dominate our body and soul.

The only way we can make good use of our privileges and live at our expected and approved level by God is to keep our body under the subjection of the Spirit of God.

Our body is sometimes referred to as the house, the temple or flesh.

The body provides the easiest access of the Devil into our being. When flesh dominates us, we manifest some characteristics.

These are: “Sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, outburst of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing and anything similar” (Gal. 5: 19-21).

When we exhibit these characteristics, we are living below our privileges and those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

To reach the goal, we must stay focused on God’s promise, as indicated in His word. Make the word your constant companion.

Concentrate and pursue the promise and refuse to be diverted from it.

Stay on your target – like the eagle. With the word, cultivate the overcoming spirit. Do not give up.

Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Walk with the Lord – in obedience and trust. Whatever the situation in life, we should not compromise and live below our privileges.
