Mgbidi Crusade 2015: You Are An Instrument Of God, Okorocha Tells Muoka
THIS year’s Mgbidi crusade 2015 with the theme: “God will make you to rejoice,” which held at the Chosen International Secondary School in Mgbidi Oru West, Imo State from January 3 to 5, was a huge success in every ramification.
It was attended by representatives from 156 nations of the world, where the church is presently recognised. They were all exposed to the spectacular miracles that characterised the three-day event.
People with diverse cases such as bedwetting, kidney problems, people infected with HIV, women who lost their menstrual period, the deaf/dumb, and those who could not walk for years and testimonies of people delivered from armed robbery attacks among others, testified of the goodness of God.
The event also witnessed the arrival of newborn babies. Five boys and a girl were delivered at the crusade, while some general overseers/founders of churches surrendered their churches to the Lord’s Chosen.
On the second day of the event, which was a Sunday, the Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha with his entourage visited the crusade ground.
Okorocha told the crowd that: “the Imo State government has declared this state and this year, as a year of victory and for that reason, God would be glorified in this land. The pastor of the Lord’s Chosen, my brother God bless you. You are an instrument that God has used to touch lives.”
He continued: “Let me say to you, pastor that this multitude of people sitting and listening to the word of God cannot be for nothing. We have heard what the good Lord is using you to do. May God bless you. You need our prayers and support because there are over one million people here. But let me say to you, you have come to the blessed land of Mgbidi you cannot go back same in Jesus name.”
The governor, who later spoke to journalists, noted: “I’m very happy hearing most of the life changing testimonies here and people accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, which is the essence of Christianity. I’m happy that this is happening in my state, where people from all over the world have gathered because of the good works of Chosen. It is something we should glorify God Almighty.
“I would have been fighting many criminals — armed robbers, kidnappers but coming here and seeing what is happening many have given their lives to Christ. This is something that the state could not have handled alone. In that case he is complementing the effort of the government. I would commend him for what he is doing,” Okorocha said.
The General Overseer, Pastor Lazarus Muoka highlighted the benefits of the crusade and called on Nigerians to anchor their faith in God, saying the world is full of uncertainties and calamities and only God is the solution to all human needs.
The theme of this year’s crusade, “God will make you to rejoice,” Muoka said: “If you run to Him, He will give you salvation and grace to live Christian life.”
He assured Christians of God’s protection, if only they would be steadfast and serve Him faithfully. And for the nation, he said: “Definitely, as we pray here, it has a lot of effect on the nation because prayers are being said on its behalf. And by the grace of God, we are going to have peaceful elections. But then, the key is that Nigerians should recognise the personality of God, as He cannot grant your desire, while you are also working against Him. I’m also addressing Nigeria’s leaders and the ordinary Nigerians that we should all run to God.”
On the mission of the state governor, Muoka said: “We know that Mgbidi is part of his state and he has the right to be in this crusade. Whether he came to seek the face of God or it was because of the election, the decision is between him and his God. But remember he is the one hosting us. He came to support what we are doing.”
On his message to the nation, the cleric said: “My word is that Nigerians should recognise God. The problem we have today is as a result of our insincerity. I call on everyone, including politicians, to return to God, Who has the key of life and success. If everyone surrenders to the total will of God, becomes born again and have the fear of God, I believe before the emergence of the rapture, this nation would have experienced progress both spiritually and otherwise.”
