It is necessary that we understand what God is capable of doing because the knowledge will strengthen our faith and relationship with Him and re-assure us that in the midst of dangerous situations; He is able to give us peace. He did it in the Bible days, when He delivered His people in Egypt. Then, when it looked like the oppression being suffered by children of Israel in the hand of Egyptian taskmasters would no longer come to an end, God used Moses and gave them peace.

While on their way to the Promised Land in the wilderness, there was no water and food, then they became vulnerable to wild beasts attack and in that harsh condition they demanded to go back to Egypt, God intervened and bestowed peace on them. As they arrived, they met with a stiff opposition from hostile neighbours and when it looked like they were about to be overpowered, God, through different judges delivered them.

Beloved, God, Who glorified His name in the time past, will glorify it yet again in our lives. With our faith standing upon the peace of God, we should not fear but be assured that all shall be well. Let that peace, which God has given us govern our lives, and direct all our actions towards men in Jesus name.

Col. 3:15 says, “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful”.

When anger, hatred, and revenge begin to rise in the soul, let God’s peace prevail and calm us. Let it calm every agitated element of the soul, subdue the tumult of passion, and preserve the mind in good health.

Beloved, we should know that God of peace is the Creator and Governor of the world. Men may claim districts and kingdoms of it as their property, but God is the Lord of heaven and earth. If we know what God can do and His ability to give us peace, we should be provoked to repose absolute confidence in Him even in this trying time. We must let the world know that our faith is not resting on man, but on Christ the Solid Rock.

1Cor. 2:5 says, “That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God”.

If our faith is hinged upon God’s power, the world may threaten and pour insult on us, but it shall not dim our understanding of God, Who is our refuge. We should learn from our fathers’ faith in the Lord, who conquered nations, overcame challenges, and were delivered by the mighty hand of God, because they placed their faith upon His power.

Psalm 46: 2-3 says, “Therefore, will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof”.
