As a child of God, you have a glorious destiny. You are wired to be great and not a nonentity. It is not normal for men to pity you because you are created to be celebrated. Destiny fulfillment, however, is a process and on your way to destiny there are powers that want to stop you. Destiny is not just what you become on earth, but what you leave behind that positively affects others. These powers therefore, know that if they can stop you, they will succeed in stopping others whose destinies are attached to you.

God gave Elisha to Elijah as a servant and at his departure Elisha received a double portion of Elija’s anointing. God in turn gave Gehazi to Elisha as a servant, but sadly, he could not get to his destiny because he was overwhelmed by the enemies of destiny, 2 Kings 5:20-27. Wherever there is a vision, there is opposition. The mission of these powers is to ensure that the potential and destinies of men are rendered useless.

There are different types of enemies of destiny. The first is inherited enemies. These are enemies inherited from your parents and they make you to fight battles. When David was about to die in 1 Kg. 2:1-6, he handed over his enemy, Joab, to his son Solomon. Some of us are fighting battles today that our parents left unfinished. A lady who was 13-month pregnant cried to me some time ago for prayers. A few days after praying with her, her aunty in the village began to confess of all her atrocities against the lady and at the end ran mad. She said she was responsible for all that the lady had been going through because of what her sister (the lady’s mother) did to her.

The second enemy is the enemies of mistaken identity. Some people are under attack or even die because of who they associate with or being in the wrong location at the wrong time. In 2 Kg. 22:30-33, King Jehoshaphat joined himself with Ahab to go to war. Ahab decided to disguise himself and dress like a common man, while he gave to Jehoshaphat his kingly regalia to wear. When the battle got really tough, the opponents captured Jehoshaphat and were about to kill him, mistaking him for Ahab; he immediately cried out, declaring his true identity and he was spared. May God hear you whenever you call on Him in Jesus’ name.

The third enemies are environmental enemies.

They are powers in charge of a particular territory and have been assigned to challenge the progress of everyone there. You can dislodge them through prayers as we see in Daniel 10:12-14. If you live or do business in such a demonic environment you need to arise in prayers against them to overcome.

The fourth are household enemies. They are members of your family and could even be your own children as David experienced. In 2 Kg. 11:1-3 Queen Athalia killed all her grandchildren because her own son was killed.

Finally, we have the envious enemies. You must be careful of the people around you because some could be envious of your progress, while you think they are celebrating with you.
