Text: Mathew 18:19-20
Key Verse: Deuteronomy 32:30, “How doth one pursue a thousand, And two cause a myriad to flee! If not — that their rock hath sold them, And Jehovah hath shut them up?” (Young’s Literal Translation)

‘Agreement’ works tremendous power in any union be it family, church, association and business organisation. Agreement transcends in all works of life. If you walk alone, you can only survive but when you walk in agreement, you will succeed. God did not call us just to survive but to live a higher life in Christ.

There are numerous Biblical stories that reveal agreement in action, some bad and some good. In Genesis 11:1, the people had agreement to build a tower that will reach Heaven, attempting to make themselves equal with God. Genesis 11:1 – Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. They had a common purpose to build a tower that will ascend into Heaven and they were all committed to it. God states that because of this agreement or unity nothing they plan will be impossible. God saw through their plans and discerns the pride of their hearts and scattered their plan.

Jesus said to His disciples if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven (Mathew 18:19). It is something very terrible to walk with someone who is with you but not with you. Beware of who you get into agreement with because whoever you agree with have a lot to do with the direction of your life. Don’t agree with people who do not agree with you because progress will be far from you.

We will break every financial stronghold when we get together. If we commit to do things together, nothing will be impossible. If we get together in prayer; poverty, sickness, closed doors shall give way.

One of the keys to recovery from loss is agreement. In 1 Samuel 30, the Amalekites raided the people of Israel and burned it with fire. They carried away as captives all women of the land. That was a great loss to David and his people and they all wept until they had no strength in them to weep. David sent for Abiathar, the priest to bring the ephod to him and he brought it to him (that is agreement). He enquired of the Lord, “shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And God said, “Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.”(1 Samuel 30:8).

In 1 Samuel 30:18, the Bible said, “And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carted away: and David rescued his two wives.” I pray for you today, as you get into agreement with someone in prayer, you shall recover all that the devil has stolen from you.

Agreement brings victory. Israel was in the battle against the Amalekites. When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. Aaron and Hur held up the hands of Moses and Israel defeated the Amalekites (Exodus 17:12).

Power comes as a result of agreement. In Acts 2:1-2, “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.”

Agreement breaks the prison chains. In Acts 12, Peter was in prison but the church prayed without season (Acts 12:5). As the Church prayed an Angel walked into the prison and tapped on Peter and the chains that they used to bound his hands and feet fell off.
