Psalm 11:3. “If the foundations are destroyed what can the righteous do?”

Joel Osteen’s father’s preaching and ways seemed not to be giving way to growth. The people who left his church gave trivial excuses for leaving and the man opened the door widely to them without begging them. Joel Osteen learnt from his father through experience because he later understood what his father was doing. He came to the conclusion that in order to please some people you might displease God. As a servant of God, you will now have to decide what you want to do, whether to displease them or not. There are people in your life that are a burden to you; they cost you your money, time, emotion. You don’t need the friendship of people you’re afraid of expressing your feeling to, who always want to have the final say; who want you to always sacrifice your happiness to please them. They will expect you to go against everything you believe in to satisfy them. Such friends will cost you heartaches and pains. You have them as house-helps, friends and co-workers in your offices; this is witchcraft and manipulation.

There are some people in your life that need you more than you need them. Lot needed Abram more than Abram needed him, but Lot determined the terms of the relationship. There are people like that in your life.

A servant of God once said that one gift his father had was the gift of saying good-bye; this is one gift we must ask God for, so that you will be able to say goodbye to every unfriendly friend in your life. I prophesy into your life that if anyone refuses to willingly separate from you and will not allow you to make progress in life, whatever my Father has to do to make sure that separation takes place, in order for you to move forward, He will do it, in the name of Jesus. When successful people recount their stories, they would tell you how they took decisions without minding who it affected. To fulfil your calling, mission, vision and destiny, you must be willing to allow those who want to leave you, to do so. Anybody that is holding you down is not worth staying around you.

One thing you must understand is that you can never be tied permanently to one person forever, except your family members, and that is if they are in the Lord. You should always remember that there are people who are for you and also those who are with you. Apart from those who are there for you including your relations who are in the Lord, others no matter how close they are to you, you will have to move on one day without them, sooner or later.

As a leader you will always need an Aaron, a person who will lift you up and assist you. There is no leader that got to a point of greatness without the assistance of one person or the other. That person that helped you could have been helped by someone else to get to where he/she is. Now while you are struggling on your way to greatness, you are like a baby who cannot walk well, you are like a man who is on crutches, you need support on both sides but as time goes on, you will gradually learn to walk on your own without the crutches and finally give them up. When you start walking without the crutches, people who are for you and have supported you, will begin to applaud your greatness and success but those who are with you, will get angry because you don’t need them anymore. They would have preferred that you lean on them for life. The Lord is saying that you don’t need such people around you. God only used them to help you while they were with you. There are some house girls who fall into this category; don’t be sentimental, let them go or else, they will toy with your emotion. I pray that God will give you all the support you need against any power that says you cannot survive without them or do better they were with you. One thing is certain, when the Lord has healed you and made you to stand on your own, you don’t need crutches anymore.
