The General Superintendent of the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement (WCCRM), Pastor Aloysius Ohanebo, has berated Christian leaders, especially those who beat their wives or inflict injuries on them that could lead to death.

Citing the example of a cleric who battered the wife, leaving her with scars all over, Ohanebo said while this abuse was ongoing, the woman concealed the issue till her husband’s death before letting it out.

Speaking before over 4, 000 religious leaders from different denominations across the globe including the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State Chapter, Bishop Stephen Adegbite and Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos State Chapter, Apostle Enyinnaya Okwuonu that gathered for this year’s International Gospel Ministers’ Conference Of The Hour in Lagos, Pastor Ohanebo noted that heaven is a holy place and only the righteous can enter it.

Harping on the topic: “End-time Realities And God’s Eleventh Hour Agenda,” Ohanebo urged Christians to prepare for rapture, adding that Jesus is coming for a church without spot or wrinkle.

He stressed that transformation comes before rapture, saying the life and ministry of Prophet Elijah were first transformed before his rapture.

According to him, Elijah’s ministry passed through three phases —exploitation, depression and the desire to die — before he was raptured.

The cleric lamented the rising cases of love for money and the quest for positions in some churches, saying that the situation has led to the proliferation of churches and titles such as bishops, apostles, evangelists and pastors.

He admonished those not qualified to have the titles, but are parading themselves to drop them, adding that there are only five ministries in the body of Christ and that all the titles come with roles and responsibilities.

He said: “A pastor is a broken man and a shepherd. He does not indulge himself in leisure or has a questionable character. He cries when the people are crying.”

He explained that the conference addresses a three-fold end-time project, which includes raising a great army of believers from different denominations for the imminent harvest of souls into the kingdom and ensuring that there is oneness in the body of Christ, among others.

The Co-ordinating Chairman, IGMC Of The Hour, Lagos Sub-region, Rev. Innocent James, who co-hosted the event urged the gospel ministers in attendance to work to fulfill the end-time prophecy.

He said: “The programme is a vision for all seasons and of all times, especially in these perilous times as the Bible puts it.”
