Everybody in business is out to sell something. It might be an idea, a product, a service, a skill, etc. No matter what you are selling, there is something very important to the success of your sales, which you will discover as you read on.

The major aim of a marketer is to transfer to people ‘INTEREST’ in his product or service. Once you are able to ignite interest in your prospective client/customer, you have won. This was why someone defined marketing as ‘transference of interest.’

Then Peter said, “Silver and Gold I do not have; but what I do have I give you…” (Acts 3: 6).You can’t give what you don’t have. If you are not enthusiastic about your product, you can’t get others enthusiastic about it.Enthusiasm simply means “strong interest and admiration.” You can’t sell successfully what you don’t admire. Enthusiasm is contagious.

It will be difficult for anybody to market what he doesn’t believe in. Although professional marketers may occasionally persuade someone into buying something they don’t believe in themselves, but if you are going to build an outstanding career, you’ve got to believe in your product.

If you want to convince others about your product, then you have to be convinced first. You might find it hard to succeed as a marketer, if you sell SHARP, but use SANYO products in your office or house. Someone said, “Pride in your product is more motivating to your prospect than any proof regardless of your product performance.”

There is a Nigerian proverb that says, “Before you ask any fashion designer to design your cloth, you have to look at the one, he or she is putting on. As you show your pride in your product (s), your prospective customers/clients will be willing to pay for it.

No one can market properly, the company he represents if he’s not enthusiastic about the company. Peter said, “We can only give what we have.” If we do not have interest in a product, we cannot transfer the interest in the product to other people.

I think it’s about time for you to stop struggling in the market place as you examine your level of enthusiasm in your product, service or the company you represent. Even God wants us to serve Him with delight, so that those who are watching us can be motivated by our delightsome service to God. Staff who are not enthusiastic are not supposed to work in customer service, because they will turn more customers off.

If you don’t believe in what a company is selling, you don’t have any business working there. People most of the time succeed at what they admire. I want you to change what you are selling to what you are enthusiastic about or become enthusiastic about what you are selling, if you want to make a remarkable impact in the market place.

A wise man once said, “Learn to do small things in a great way.” If your business is small you must have a strong interest and determination for it, if you want to make advancement. Get excited about your products or services and this will positively affect your sales. You have prayed and fasted, but you are not enthusiastic enough about what you are doing. It’s time to get excited about your business and you will excel at it.Royalty Christian Centre; Wisdom Arena, 1, Williams Estate, Opposite Vetland Grammar School, Agege, Lagos. 07082083554.
