There is no gainsaying the fact that there is power in righteousness. In fact, it is the secret of believers’ power and victory over the enemy. A sinner cannot challenge the devil because he does not possess the power of righteousness, a weapon that counters the dark world. Sin, which is synonymous with unrighteousness, is dangerous! It destroys and renders destinies destitute. It enslaves and separates man from his God.

Adam had no boldness to stand before God because of sin. He became naked and exposed to the devil. Sin was the undoing of that first man in the Garden of Eden. He was driven away from the Garden and stripped naked by sin of disobedience. He became bereft of personal righteousness. However, Jesus came to restore man unto Himself by His death on the Cross of Calvary and whoever accepts Him begins a new life of righteousness.

Righteousness has been restored to man. The blood of Jesus makes it possible for man to attain personal righteousness. Indeed, everybody must strive for his personal righteousness, which is personal. No one shares his righteousness with anyone. A minister’s righteousness cannot save his members. Righteousness cannot be possessed nor assessed collectively. Every man must work out his personal righteousness by way of repentance. Some Christians are defeated in battle because of unrighteousness.

Losses in battle are occasioned by sin. This is the reason the enemy fights believers to take away their righteousness, so they can remain defeated in life. Righteousness brings about strength and victory in battles, but the enemy does not want it. Hence, his relentless battle against believers to take away righteousness and render them powerless. There cannot be real victory without righteousness. Man will remain a slave in the devil’s hand, until he repents and returns to God.

Righteousness is very easy and attainable. It is a nature of a child of God. It is easy as the oxygen we breathe. Nobody struggles to breath. On the other hand, there is no struggle in righteousness. The benefits of righteousness are inestimable. Righteousness brings a man closer to God, as it enhances fellowship with the Almighty God. Adam enjoyed divine fellowship with God before he fell, because of unrighteousness. There is also power and authority in righteousness, as it gives victory in battles. It always brings God’s presence and brings about boldness. The dark world is always afraid of the righteous; righteousness makes a man to access God’s blessings.

A man that has righteousness has everything. Nothing brings peace to man than righteousness. The world is oblivious of the fact that there is no gain in mundane things. Whatever the enemy flashes on a man in the world is fake and makebelief. There is no enjoyment in the world. The world and the sins in it do not give peace and happiness. The offer of the world scotches; it stings and brings its prey to regret and untimely death. On the contrary, righteousness is the best life a man can live. It’s a way of life. Righteousness is a defence.

Righteousness is a tested and proven weapon that cannot fail. Go for it and life will be so easy for you.For further reading: Isaiah 62:3; Gen. 3:8-10; Rom. 10:4; Gal:3:27; Rom 13:14; Col.3:4; Rom.9:12; 2Sam.19:12-15; Rev.19:8.
