The present state of the church – Part 5

The problem with the church of this age is that it is unable to think as God thinks. It savours not the things of God, but the things of man. It is weakness that demons are quick to exploit to the advantage of the kingdom of darkness.

The problem with the church of this age is that it is unable to think as God thinks. It savours not the things of God, but the things of man. It is weakness that demons are quick to exploit to the advantage of the kingdom of darkness. What the Lord expects from this Church is to accept with meekness and humility this gentle rebuke of the Lord, just as Peter did in Mark 8:31-33. “And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.”

Jesus has just taught His disciples concerning His sufferings, death and resurrection. Peter loved Jesus and with all good intentions, he was rebuking the Master, telling Him not to say such things again. Peter was wrong. He was genuinely wrong. He was wrong on the side of love. He was sincerely wrong. His mistake was a fundamental one. He yielded himself to be used of demons because he did not see things the way God saw things. He did not align himself with God’s eternal plan.

His mind at that time was not the mind of God. Jesus rebuked him and said, “Get thee behind me Satan.” Peter was not the devil, but in that instant, he was saying what was in the mind of the devil and had no part with the thoughts of God. He was thinking like man thinketh. Every man-made doctrine and traditions of men and rudiments of this world that do not agree with the mind of God is from demons.

The simplest example of a demonic doctrine is the use of candles, incense and holy waters, as well as the killing of bulls and goats in the New Testament times. These practices were ordained of God in the Old Testament times, but found no place in the superior revelations of the New Testament, because all these things have been fulfilled in Christ. He is now our light. He is the sweet aroma of our prayers to God. He is the lamb that takes away the sin of the world. In much the same, any teaching that runs contrary to the light of the New Testament scriptures is demonic in origin.

I Tim 4:3 mentions some of these demonic doctrines, such as the doctrine of Free love and Ascetic Abstinence. But even as we see the day approaching, the devil is bringing more and more of these doctrines into the church. And his work has been made easier because the sanitising influence of the Word of God has been lost, because the Word of God in its purity has been thrown out of the church and replaced with creeds, traditions of men, rudiments of this world and vain philosophies of men.

Lies are now being spoken in hypocrisy. The flesh of the Scriptures are now used to foist the teaching and the traditions of men upon the Church and in this way, make the Word of God of non-effect in the lives of God’s people.

Many of these doctrines are firmly established in the so-called denominational churches in the womb of which so many eagle saints of God are still trapped, daily being corrupted by their association with a wrong system of religious worship, which the Bible calls Mystery Babylon, the Great. This is a false system of worship, established outside the revelation of the Word of God. If the system is wrong, then the doctrines must be wrong. Dear child of God, examine these doctrines and allow the Holy Spirit to provoke you to a verdict. In this column, we will examine the doctrine of the last Prophet, which I will call BRANHAMISM.

I invite you to join us as we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Watchmen’s International Conference from Monday, March 30, 2020 to Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at the Maranatha Dome of FOBIM, Opp. KAAB Filling Station, Leme, Abeokuta, by 10.00am daily.
