Breaking News:

Time to demonstrate our love

By Pastor Lazarus Muoka

It is purely out of love that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to come into the world to die for the sins of mankind. Although man had derailed, going against God’s Will, plan and purpose for him by committing sin of disobedience, His love for man led Him to create another window for man’s salvation.

John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

It is purely out of love that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to come into the world to die for the sins of mankind. Although man had derailed, going against God’s Will, plan and purpose for him by committing sin of disobedience, His love for man led Him to create another window for man’s salvation. There are two different Greek words used in the expression of levels of love. They are ‘agapao,’ which implies deep love without any attachment. This is the type of love God has for His children that prompted His sending His Son, Jesus Christ. The second word is ‘phileo,’ also implying love but not as deep as agapao. Phileo is the kind of love friends share. In today’s world, there is dearth of the agapao type of love. Our Lord Jesus Christ showed people of the world deep love and died for their sins, but mankind has not reciprocated in terms of rendering service to God. It is the lack of this love that prompted the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ to the disciples the third time, making Him to ask questions in John 21:15-17 thus, “So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep”. Our Lord Jesus Christ was disappointed with Apostle Peter because he abandoned the work of evangelism for his personal fishing business.

Prior to this period, Peter did not have agapao love. The emphasis in the questions and feeding the lamb and sheep is to make him realise that he had been called to fish men for their salvation. Our Lord Jesus wants him to demonstrate his love for God and the work of evangelism. It is rather unfortunate that Apostle Peter had earlier denied our Lord Jesus Christ on the night of His arrest, but after that, the spirit of God came upon him and strengthened his faith. He suffered arrests, flogging, imprisonment and eventually crucifixion on the cross that was turned upside down, all for the love of our Lord Jesus Christ and for the gospel. His faith in God did not shake till death. There is expectation from our Lord Jesus Christ that we demonstrate unalloyed love for God and for the preaching of the gospel. It is by the disciples’ demonstration of deep love for the gospel and strong faith in God that will make the gospel get to all the people of the world before the rapture takes place. That is why the Bible says in Mark 16:15-16,“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.16 He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned”. Our Lord Jesus Christ has given a command to go into the nooks and crannies of the planet earth to preach the salvation message of the Kingdom of God. However, despite this Divine clarion call for the preaching of the gospel, many people, just as Peter did in the lead scripture, abandoned service to the Almighty God for their personal businesses. Many people want God’s blessings first before the service, forgetting that the Bible makes it clear that we should seek God first, after which the addition of all our needs will follow suit. Even on Sundays, the day set aside for the worship of God, many people still go to their business places in pursuit of earthly wealth. Where is the love of God and His evangelism work? The work is plenty, but unfortunately, the labourers are few, due to the hollowness of the love for God and the preaching of the gospel.

The opportunity for salvation of souls is available at this dispensation of grace. Salvation can only be possible for a man that has the privilege of hearing the message of salvation. The opportunity will only present itself, when someone must have preached to them. It is, therefore, time for every disciple of Jesus Christ to demonstrate his love for God by preaching the gospel in season and out of season to perishing souls. That is why the Bible laments in Revelation 2:1-4 saying, “Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; 2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. 4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love”. Our Lord is lamenting that many disciples have left their first love for Christ and for the gospel. Many even claim what they are not, thereby preaching the gospel in unrighteousness. The love Lord Jesus Christ has for the world has not waned. He loves the world and He is coming back to wed the church. It is only the people that are doing the work faithfully that will be raptured, when the trumpet shall sound. Christ has shown great love to the world by dying for our sins. We should, therefore, reciprocate by ensuring that the purpose of His sacrificial death on the Cross of Calvary is fulfilled; that His Will only be achieved by the people He told to occupy till He comes continue to preach the gospel to every creature on earth.

In Romans 5:8-10 the Bible says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life”. It is an unmerited love that God has for His people, because while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us that we might be saved. He did not do it to gain anything; it was purely out of love. Christ brought reconciliation between God and man; that through that death, we might be saved. We should, therefore, demonstrate our love for Him by preaching the gospel, serving Him and being obedient to His Word, so that at the end of this earthly life, we will meet Him in heaven for eternal life.

Testimony Of The Lord’s Doing

Evil Mark On Forehead Erased, Open Doors Follow

MY name is Brother Chuks from the Netherlands. I thank God for making my family and I members of The Chosen. I appreciate God for what He did for me in 2015; how he took away an evil mark that had been on my forehead for many years. When I gained consciousness of my existence at age 5, I noticed that nothing worked for me and almost everybody hated me. There was nothing I did that prospered. When walking with my friends on the road, I could feel cobwebs covering my face. It got to the point I asked my friends if they felt the same, but they said no. It continued like that till I graduated from the university, and I never got a job. I went in search of solutions to my problems from one prayer house to the other. I also visited native doctors. The last native doctor I visited was said to be a very powerful one, who usually visited the land of the spirits before he telling you the solution to your problem.

He returned and told me that there was an evil mark on my forehead and that no native doctor could remove it from my head. According to him, the mark was used by a kingdom to monitor the bearer of the mark, and if anything good thing was coming, they would stop it. He advised me to go and look for a very powerful man of God that could remove the mark from my forehead. When I got back, I stopped going to church. I had attended a lot of churches, including the big ones. So, I stayed at home and stopped going to church. One day, I heard about The Lord’s Chosen from a pastor that was preaching and he told me about the church and I decided to go there. When I visited the church, they were preparing for Mgbidi 2015, and I decided to follow them. In addition to the problem of the evil mark, I was also experiencing constant urination. I would urinate more than 10 times before daybreak, and I was always having evil dreams, where l would see myself on my rooftop. I was also hearing the banging of alligators every night and every day. So, I decided to go to Mgbidi. I was careful not to drink too much water, so I would not urinate, as I used to also urinate more than 10 times in the day. I even bought a bag of sachet water, but couldn’t drink it. I controlled myself till the servant of God came out. I was expecting to see someone that would be jumping, as I had heard that he was a very powerful man of God. But when he came out, I saw a man that did not struggle. When he was praying, I became very angry. I said to myself, ‘how could I have come for a three-day crusade, only for the man of God to be drawing his prayers and speaking slowly. I was not happy at all. What I expected wasn’t what I saw. Afterwards, however, it dawned on me that truly, it is not by struggle, but by grace. So after that day, I got something to eat and miraculously, l did not urinate after drinking lots of water. Praise the lord.

Furthermore, in 2019, the pastor talked about partnership and I contributed 50 Euros, which l doubled every year. Sometime in that 2019, I gave God 2000 Euros, which was over one million naira. And when I returned to the Netherlands, I received a bonus from my company, which was more than thrice what I gave to the church. Formerly, getting a job was tough, but now, companies are pursuing me with jobs. I got a job in an Oil and Gas company and my salary is twice what l received in my former company. Joining The Chosen is the greatest thing that has happened to me.

Praise the Lord.

I pray for my G.O and all members of The Chosen worldwide. Heaven at last in Jesus name.
