Paul, the Apostle was astonished, when he visited the city of Athens and saw an inscription, “To The Unknown God.” He quickly understood that the city was given to idol worship and needed the light of God to liberate them from darkness.

Ignorantly, many Christians are into strange worship and observance of heathen practices. Christians have embraced the god of Christmas in the name of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Curiously enough, none can lay hold in any scripture where it was mentioned or instructed by Our Lord Jesus to observe it as His birthday. But today, Christians have followed the bandwagon of heathens who do not even know God, to observe this satanic practice. Christmas is a practice of paganism, which has crept into the Church of God.

This is one of the celebrations that so-called Christians observe without asking from where it originated. Birthday celebration has also assumed another dimension in the Church of God. This carnival has turned suicidal, as many souls have perished in the course of birthday celebration. The only birthday celebration recorded in the scripture ended with the blood of a saint, John the Baptist (Mark 6:17-28). This clearly shows how demonic such celebrations could be. Christmas is not insulated either. It is a season when atrocities are committed with reckless abandon.

In Roman Catholic parlance, Christmas was originally celebrated as the last meal Jesus had with His disciples. The question that points the way forward, is what metamorphosed supposedly celebration of Christ last meal with His disciples to the birth of Jesus Christ? The date chosen for Christmas celebration is also false and misleading, as Jesus Christ was not born on December 25. Nobody assumed his/her birthday. The assumption of Christ’s birthday is ridiculous and a joke taken too far! And no adoption of such fictitious date will ever justify the claims of the adherents.

The only day Christians were commanded to remember was His death, and this was clearly written down for believers to observe in the Bible. So, the arguments that Christ was born in December can never hold sway. Christmas came to the fore in the 4th century, and it is a Roman celebration of Sun god; a heathen practice that has no biblical foundation.

The Christmas green tree originated from the false belief that Nimrod did not die, but reincarnated in Thamos. The popular Christmas green tree that celebrants use to decorate their houses in commemoration of Christmas is an idol worship and has been severally condemned in the Bible (Isaiah 57:6-7; Ezekiel 20:23). But surprisingly, Christians adopted Christmas and all its contents without any biblical backing or proof. This, no doubt, is foolishness and ignorance taken to the extreme.

These are the reasons churches are empty today. Such ungodly and unscriptural practice has sent the power and the presence of God away from churches. Christianity is not a ritual; it is spiritual and should be treated as such.
Be careful! This season is a tempting period. Do not fall sheepishly into idol worship or the worship of the Unknown God.
