Deut. 7:6 says, “For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto Himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth”.

In the Bible days, God Almighty made a choice among all the people He created and set them apart to execute the important purposes of His providence. That they were chosen to this high destiny was not on account of their extraordinary merits, but because God wanted to illustrate His glory to all mankind through them.

He told them in 1Peter 2: 9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him, who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

It is important to let the world know that we the chosen ones never applied to be chosen, neither was there any campaign to that effect. God, of His own volition, chose us to be His glory out of many He created. It was not because of our beauty, intellectual capacity, physical prowess or any measure of Excellencies, that we were chosen, but it was that we should make Jesus the Lord of Lords and King of Kings and in doing so bear fruits for the Kingdom of Heaven.

The call to be a Chosen and bear fruit is a call to be a born again Christian, a call to soul winning. If you are not winning souls for Christ wherever you are and in whatever position God has placed you, you are not meeting the demand by which you are chosen, therefore not a chosen.
Jn 15: 16 says, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you”

Beloved, if you are a Christian, God has placed you under sacred obligations to be entirely devoted to His service. He has designated you to be soul winners. He set you apart to bring forth fruit, and persevere in all the fruits of holiness and obedience, which are the praise and glory of God by Jesus Chris.

You must not think to lead an idle life, but labour. You must not wait till work be brought to you, but must go and seek it. You must labour so as to bring forth fruits- souls converted to the Lord. You must take care to water what God has planted, that the souls whom you have gathered in is not scattered, thus, you must understand the importance of follow up, and continuous prayer that your labours may be rewarded.

Thus, we the chosen ones are doing daily. So when you see us on our apron preaching the gospel, in the market places, in the buses doing the work which we are commissioned to do, you should not misconstrue our action, for it is not our fault, we are chosen to bear fruit- win souls. It is not that by nature we are stronger than others, but because He graciously inclined us to seek and bring others to Him before the end comes.

Why there are increases in crime, prostitution, divorce, killings and amoral lifestyle is because those that were chosen have consigned their commission to win souls to the bin. And any Christian who has cease from winning souls- bearing fruits has loss the privilege of having his name written among the chosen ones.

This is because the primary reason why you are chosen was that you should be rich in good works, faithful and successful in spreading the gospel, for this is the great business to which you are set apart, and this you should faithfully accomplished. It is the great end for which Christians are chosen. You were not chosen to be idle, or seek enjoyment but to spread as far as possible the physical and spiritual rich blessings, which the gospel is fitted to confer on mankind. Therein shall the effect of your labour made permanent on mankind.
