Inspiration of the holy spirit

It had been foretold that believers would experience the manifestation of the Holy Ghost. Joel 2:28 says, “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.” It’s of great benefit and advantage to possess the Holy Ghost. A Christian without the Holy Spirit is like a walking corpse.

Holy Spirit reveals future events. He knows the future of any project you want to embark upon. He decides for you not to enter into a relationship that seems good to you, but will end in calamity. The wise men were able to know the mind of Herod the king towards Jesus, the newborn child through the power of God. Holy Spirit alerts and diverts the danger lying ahead of you.

Holy Spirit gives the power of discernment. Through the power of the Holy Ghost, Apostle Paul was able to cast out the spirit of the devil in a certain damsel, who had the spirit of divination and brought gain to her boss through soothsaying. Even though she praised Paul and other ministers, that they were the servants of the most high God who showed the way of salvation, Paul knew the spirit in her was not of God and that she lacked good intention (Acts 16:16-18). When a demonic agent in the form of a man of God is trying to deceive you by telling secret things of your life, that no one knows about, except you, You need the spirit of God to detect. Mathew 7:15 says, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

Holy Spirit reveals God’s mystery and also testifies against sin, (Amos 3:7; 2nd kings 17:13). Abstaining from sin is a way to please God. Holy Spirit helps us to conquer the temptation of sin, when it raises its ugly head. He teaches us the do and don’ts of God’s Kingdom and will grant us eternal life.

What are the modes of communication of the Holy Ghost? He communicates in various patterns and means. He could communicate by a voice (Acts 8:29), by visions (Numbers 12:6) and by dreams (Daniel 7:1).

Holy Spirit is a necessity in everyone’s life. It’s not meant for only the men of God. It will be better to ask God for His spirit, so the devil and his agents will be conquered and subdued under your feet.

Finally, despisers of the Holy Spirit are punished. According to 2nd kings 7:1-2, Elisha said, Hear you the word of the LORD; Thus said the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel. Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, you shall see it with your eyes, but shall not eat thereof. The chief was actually punished.” And so it fell out to him: for the people stepped on him in the gate, and he died”, (2Kings 7:20). May the good Lord grant us the power of the Holy Ghost.
