Forty-eight-year-old Abisu Ibrahim was introduced to the former Lagos State governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, by one of the contractors (expatriate) that built the pedestrian Bridge at Agege Motor Road.

He was placed on a monthly salary of N10, 000, which was steady until the end of Fashola’s administration.

Ibrahim was introduced to the former governor on the ground that he would clean the footbridge at Oshodi and the governor promised to assist him, which he commenced the following month until Fashola left office.

“I received N10, 000 as salary from a woman who came from LAWMA office and this was consistent until the end of Fashola’s tenure.

Though the salary was not much, at least, it was able to sustain my family, which made me to be grateful to have the job. I am now being traumatised as the salary has been stopped, with no means to meet my family needs.

“Now, I resume work at 6:30am and close at 3.00 pm with nothing to show for it,” he lamented.

Ibrahim is imploring the state government to intervene and look into the possibility of paying him the arrears of his salary in order to help improve his standard of living. “My salary is N10, 000 only in a month, and my I plead with Lagos State government to intervene,” he said.
