THE journey of 25-year-old Classiq Tunes in the on-going Etisalat -sponsored Nigerian Idol season V came to an abrupt end yesterday after the musician cum professional piano instrumentalist was voted out of the competition as hehad the least number of votes among the Top 5 contestants at the Nigerian Hip-Hop themed gala show.

With his exit, the competition has been narrowed down to four contestants, namely K-Peace, Dolu, Preye, and Nex2.

Expressing his excitement at having made the Top 5 stage, Classiq Tunez attributed his longevity in the competition to his loyal voting fans. He said, “I feel blessed to have made it to the gala shows. I know this is the beginning of new things for me and I am grateful to my fans and also Etisalat for the opportunity to have participated in the Nigerian Idol competition.”

Commenting on his exit, Head, Events and Sponsorships, Etisalat Nigeria, Modupe Thani commended the evicted contestant’s showmanship and urged him to see his eviction as a blessing in disguise.

“Classiq Tunez was one of the people’ favourites but only one favourite will win the crown. I am glad he took his eviction calmly and I urge the remaining Top 4 contestants to win the hearts of the voting public, in order to remain in the competition.’’

The show airs on local TV stations and cable networks like STV, NTA, Superscreen TV, Rave TV, Smash TV, Ooduaa TV, V Channel TV, Real Star TV, Cool TV, Wazobia TV and WapTV.
