No more limits, only temporary barriers – Part 2

One of the greatest impediments in life is fear. There is the fear of the unknown and the fear of failure. Fear limits progress and advancement. The other impediment is the lack of confidence. This has to do with low self-esteem. The third is the lack of knowledge.

The Bible says: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” (Hosea 4:6).

We must take care of the barriers listed above if we desire to attain the heights God has set for us.

Some may ask: “If Christ has removed all barriers why, then, do we have limitations and obstacles?” The barriers are only temporary and they are meant to help train us. God deliberately left some unconquered territories for Israel, so that, they will learn how to fight wars. Barriers and limitations are steppingstones for our maturity and growth. “Now these are the nations which the Lord left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan, this was only so that the generations of the children of Israel might be taught to know war, at least those who had not formerly known it,” (Judges 3:1-2 – NKJV).

In Christ, we have no limits because we are in him who is the fullness of the Godhead and the head of all principalities and powers. “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power,” Colossians 2:9-10 (NKJV).

In Christ, we have no limit to what we can accomplish in the place of prayer as long as we have faith. The Bible notes: “So Jesus answered and said to them: Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them,” Mark 11:22-24 (NKJV). Note the statement, “whatever things you ask when you pray.”

We have no limits because we have received his fulness to do all things, we have grace for anything we are called or chosen to do. Jesus said: “If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them,” John 13:17.

Israel limited themselves and God by their refusal to enter the Promised Land. When God commands us to “move forward,” and we refuse to move, we limit Him. We limit Him when we refuse to do what He asks us to do. We limit God when we fail to obey Him. Yes, again and again, they tempted God and limited the Holy One of Israel,” Psalm 78:40-42.

To move forward in life, we must deal with the problem of fear. If the problem is in our mind, how do we transform the mind? The Bible says: “Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect,” Romans 12:2 (NLT).
