God Has many attributes and one of these is that God is omniscience. Nothing is concealed from God’s sight; everything is open and exposed before Him.

Text: Revelation 2:1-22;
Hebrews 4:12-13
Key Verse: Hebrews 4:13, “And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” (ESV)

God Has many attributes and one of these is that God is omniscience. Nothing is concealed from God’s sight; everything is open and exposed before Him. God is omniscient. Omniscient means having knowledge of all things; universal knowledge. There is nothing we do that is hidden from God, though it may be hidden from people. Hebrews 4:13 says, no creature is hidden from His sight.

God is interested in our personal relationship with Him more than anything else. Mathew 6:33, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” There is no substitute to holy and righteous living. Even your giving and paying tithe cannot substitute for righteous living. God is Holy and He wants us to be holy. Hebrews 12:14, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.

Beloved, a man’s ways are before the eyes of the LORD, and the Lord watches us closely. It is imperative that, since we know we are naked before God, we should live a life acceptable and pleasing to Him. We should turn away from living in sin and seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. There is no substitute to Christ.

After being saved as a believer, you then begin to work out your salvation with trembling and fear (Philippians 2:12). Our Christian walk with God does not stop at salvation of our souls, but we begin to bear fruits of righteousness and labour in righteousness. When you sin against God, fellowship is broken.

When you are saved, your life should be a testimony to others. There is a wall of difference between a man that is saved and a man that is not saved. You don’t continue to live in sin after being saved; that is living in presumptuous sin. Presumptuous sin is continuing to live in sin and believing that God will always forgive. This will amount to insulting God and abusing His grace. A believer should live like a saint because we are blood bought.

It is possible to live a holy life because Jesus already set an example for us. Hebrews 4:15, “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathise with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.”

There are levels of our walk with God. The elementary level is when we gave our lives to Christ and our sins are taken away. Another level is that we are now given power to live above sin. John 1:12, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” Every child of God should be recipient of this power.

Sin destroys our relationship with God. Don’t toy with sin; it will destroy your relationship with God. Material blessings are not evidence that we are children of God, because unbelievers are also having material blessings. There is nothing that can be compared to a life of holiness and purity.

The omniscience of God means that everything we do lay bare before the eyes of God and cannot be covered before Him. It also implies that since everything is uncovered before God’s eyes, then we should walk before Him blameless. Psalm 139:11, “If I say, surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.”

Today’s Nugget: God is omniscient.
Prayer: Lord, help me to walk before you blameless.
