The Bishop of the Diocese of Ondo, Rt. Rev. Stephen Adeniran Oni has urged the newly ordained deacons and priests to be faithful and committed in God’s service, adding that only the faithful will be rewarded.

Speaking at the combined service, which comprised Ondo and Ekiti Dioceses at the Cathedral of Saint Stephen, Oke-Aluko, Ondo City, last Sunday, Oni urged them to care and love the people they are to work with and also to depend on God.

Earlier in his sermon, the Acting Head, Ekiti Diocese and Dean of Emmanuel Cathedral, Ado-Ekiti, the Very Reverend Francis Bamkole, noted that the ordination was a special grace from God.

Bamkole said: “You must note and take into cognisance that you are called to have deep relationship with God as well as the high and low in the society. Let me admonish you brethren to be strong and humble in the Lord.”

He added that those ordained and other priests should comprehensively improve themselves and their households.

Those ordained at the 2022 Trinity Ordination were drawn from the two Dioceses and they include: Samuel Ayo-Oluwa Adisa; Opeyemi David Bamikefa; Lucas Adeboye Temidoro; Olawuyi Kehinde Oyedeji; Oyetunde Matthew Oyetola; Olumide Oluwashina Oluwasimide; Babawale Femi Oyerinde; Olubowale Pius Odubekun; Temitope James Akinyemi; Owolabi Omotuyi as Deacons

Others are, Omotayo Victor Ojo; Feyisayo Raphael Afiolayan; Oluwasegun Emmanuel Olaniyi; Abiodun Fisayo Adegbulu; Gabriel Idowu Akinwumi; Daniel Sunday Oga; Bethel Ogbonnaya Nwanja; Stephen Oluwasemilore Adefioye and Olawale Olutoye Odewale as priests.

One of the highlights of the service was the award of scholarship to one of the ordained priests, Reverend Omotayo Victor Ojo, to complete his Master’s degree programme in recognition of his brilliance for scoring distinction in all his Theological courses at the graduate level.
