I have heard people argue whether tithe is of Old Testament law or New Testament and whether it is necessary to pay it or not.

This argument is of the people who do not love the kingdom, but pretend to: they are the false righteous people who defend their greed and stinginess with pious looks but don’t really love God.

The devil through his various agents tends to paint the picture and give an impression that to pay tithe is difficult but it is not difficult to spend all your money on hospital bills or on the repairs of your car.

“To obey is better than sacrifice,” 1 Samuel 15:22b. “For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue,” Luke 7:5.

They are pretenders in the house of God. Who think they are working for God, but unknown to them they are working against God and have become tools in the hand of the enemy.

Tithe is not of the Old or New Testament. It is before the law, the law came through Moses, but tithe came before Moses. Tithe is of faith not of law. It is an act of faith to protect us and our provisions and to make for our source of provision. Jesus rebuked those who pay tithe only and do not demonstrate the true love of God thus underscoring the great importance of tithe then and today.

“But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you. But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone,” Luke 11:41-42.

That is to say, pay your tithe and fulfil other obedience to God and humanity.

Every true believer will pay for his or her tithe without question. When you pay your tithes you are obeying God’s commandment that there will be meat in His (God’s) house. And also for you to have peace.

For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

“To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace.

Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God…. But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham and blessed him that had the promises. And without all contradiction, the less is blessed of the better,” Hebrews 7:1-7.

If tithing is of the devil, people will do it with ease and it will not receive the massive attacks from hell as it is getting today.

Tithing started before the law was given to Moses. It started physically with Abraham when he went to war to rescue his nephew, Lot. He was not only successful in that epic battle but brought back a lot of spoils and he paid tithe to Melchizedek King of Salem – A man that has no beginning nor end, no father or mother. Is this not God coming to show us the way of true victory and prosperity? Why are the devil and men fighting against tithe if it won’t help your destiny? .

“And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all,” Genesis 14:18-20.
