Shuga Band, led by Akin Tofowomo, has been busy crisscrossing Nigeria from Lagos to Calabar, dishing out tunes after tunes in the fever of inauguration of newly elected governors.

The band was on hand to deliver entertainment during Citizen Awards by Lagos State Government and was the band of choice for the inauguration for the newly sworn-in governor of the state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.

The day after that he was in Calabar for the inauguration after-party of the new government.

Shuga is not just about playing music he is giving back to society through Shuga Limb Foundation (SLF), as Shuga lives with disability. He suffered polio at age five and since then, he has been walking with the aid of walking stick.

That Shuga rose from disability to become leader of one of Nigeria’s big bands is a testimony to the fact that with determination and necessary encouragement, anybody can become anything they want to be.

SLF hosted children with disabilities to celebrate this year’s Children’s Day. This year marks the fourth year the foundation has been hosting children living with disabilities to a day of Laughter, fun and merriment.

The Shuga Limb Foundation got tremendous support from sponsors such as The Nigerian Britain Association, Epicentre Events, Association of Band Owners of Nigeria (ABON), Mallas Catering, Saheeto Smallchops, Astoria Caterers, Blue World Drinks, ICampus, Bellanaija, Soundpro, Tent Event, Promasidor, Lekki British Junior School, Pepsi, Real Dreams Media, Play Barn, Irede Foundation and DJ B-Best. They all made the event a memorable one for the children.

The Nigerian Britain Association also supported one of SLF beneficiaries- Seyifunmi, with a new prosthetic, to enable him function properly for his SSCE Exams.

Meanwhile, Shuga just released a new single dedicated to Lagos State.
