Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has enjoined owners of broadcast outfits, under the aegis of Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), to use their wealth of experience to douse the tension in the land and repackage Nigeria for competitiveness and foreign direct investments (FDIs).

The governor, who made the appeal yesterday while opening the 67th annual conference of the body in Owerri, stressed that investors could only access available opportunities through their programming.

He said: ‘’Our nation requires repackaging. It is unfortunate that a great nation like ours has not been properly packaged for consumption by the international communities. Yet, there are more evils in other nations than we have in Nigeria but the reports going out about our country are such that no one will want to come into the country unless for those who want to take a risk. No nation can grow with this arrangement. I want to charge you today, as you meet, think Nigeria and see how you can repackage it. We are not the worst of them all.”

Earlier, the national chairman of the organisation, John Momoh, said they are in the state to brainstorm on solutions to the challenges confronting them.He noted that as watchdogs of society, they were ensuring that political office holders discharge their duties to the people.
