LEADING phone retailer in Nigeria, Slot Systems Limited, has launched a ‘trade-in’ program to enable customers exchange their old phones for brand new ones.

Confirming this in Lagos, at the weekend, the Managing Director of Slot, Nnamdi Ezeigbo, said that this program is in collaboration with Matrix Certified Pre-Owned Nigeria Limited.

According to Ezeigbo, “to be part of this program is very simple – just walk into any Slot store, hand in your old phone, pay the price difference and walk out with a brand new phone for any of these brands of your choice: Blackberry, I phone, Samsung and Nokia”.

Tagged ‘SLOT Trade-in’, the service is available in 50 Slot stores nationwide, and seeks to fulfill customers desire to own state-of-the-art phones at affordable prices.

Corroborating this, the Managing Director of Matrix, Pastor Dimeji Matesun, observed that with the ‘Slot Trade-in’ the value of a phone can be used in exchange for another, thereby giving customers real value for their money.

Continuing Matesun, noted that the traded phones (used phones) received from this program will be sold by Matrix through its used phone retail stores across Nigeria.

The bottom-line is to bring benefit to the Nigerian people at this (hard time).   Sources from the Ikeja head office of Slot confirmed that, “it doesn’t matter where the customer purchased their phones from, even from our competitor, they will also enjoy the privilege of trading it for a new and authentic device with one year after sales warranty.

Simply, the customer is only expected to present a copy of their Identity card to authenticate its ownership”   In order to forestall the possibility customers bringing in stolen phones for trade-in, Ezeigbo said: “However, as a way of guarding against increasing theft of mobile devices, a new website www.stolenphone.org has been launched, thereby providing a platform for consumers to register every lost device.

This process is very simple: just register the model of the device, IMEI number and your phone number.

This website makes it easy for our Staff to check if the device is stolen or not before proceeding with the process of trade-in, which means that if you buy a phone from Slot, you are sure of the source”.

Ezeigbo stated that “we shall continue to provide the shopping and wonderful after sales service experience that we are known for which is the underlying principle and philosophy of Slot is to add value to people’s lives by making the all-important use of mobile phones a pleasurable experience.
