Tecno unveils AI-driven devices to enhance Nigeria’s tech scene

Tecno, a prominent mobile phone brand in Nigeria, has launched a new lineup of AI-driven smartphones and smart devices during the Tecno AI and Ecosystem Launch Event held at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event highlighted Tecno’s latest AI-powered products, including the PHANTOM V Fold2 5G, PHANTOM V Flip, CAMON 30S, and MEGABOOK T16 laptops, all designed to improve performance and user experience with AI features.

Jack Guo, General Manager of Tecno, spoke about the company’s focus on research and development and its aim to advance AI technologies for the Nigerian market. He stated, “We have established strong partnerships with global industrial partners like Google, Media Tech, and MTN. Our approach is based on scientific, data-driven innovation, which helps us provide relevant technology to local consumers.”

Tech influencers Tobi Ayeni (Miss Techy), Olatunde Oshobanjo (Valorreviews), and Izzie Boye guided attendees through the distinctive features of Tecno’s new devices.

The PHANTOM V Fold2 5G and PHANTOM V Flip featured AI-powered multitasking and 4K video capabilities, targeting Africa’s increasing number of content creators. The PHANTOM V Fold2, a foldable smartphone, utilises AI to enhance user experience, offering multitasking features that facilitate transitions between browsing, streaming, and gaming.

With advanced AI photography and video editing tools, the V Fold2 aims to support content creators and influencers in Nigeria’s growing social media landscape.

The more compact PHANTOM V Flip serves as an alternative option, combining style and performance while maintaining AI-driven capabilities. With enhanced camera features and a sleek design, the V Flip targets users who seek functionality in a portable format.

Additional devices introduced included the CAMON 30S, a mid-range smartphone offering advanced AI features at an accessible price point, and the MEGABOOK T16, a high-performance laptop designed for professionals and creatives. Its AI optimization allows efficient operation during resource-intensive tasks such as video editing and graphic design.
