COP30: How Ghana is reducing its carbon footprint with indigenous solutions

Agroforestry helps combat climate change through both mitigation and adaptation. It mitigates climate change by sequestering carbon in soil and biomass, making agricultural systems “carbon sinks” that absorb \(CO_{2}\). It also aids adaptation by increasing resilience to climate impacts, such as drought and extreme temperatures, by improving soil health, regulating water cycles, and creating more favorable microclimates.
