How Lord’s Chosen rescued kidnap victim

Unknown to little Opeyemi Olutade, the evil, orchestrated by kidnappers against his life turned out to be a blessing, as the Welfare Department of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, has offered him scholarship.

Opeyemi Olutade, a former student of Divine Covenant School, Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos State, was on his way to school, when he was kidnapped in January this year by unknown persons.

The 12-year-old was given scholarship to study any course from secondary to university. And Opeyemi, who is seen as another Pastor Lazarus Muoka in the making by members of the church, said he would like to study Mathematics.

Narrating how it all happened, Opeyemi, who was brought up by Muslim parents, told The Guardian that on that fateful day, a man in a sports utility van (SUV) had beckoned at him to come.

He said: “I was going to school in January, when one man in a Jeep called me to come and as I went to him, he took me into his Jeep. As the man sped off, something told me to declare that ‘I am a Chosen.” So, I said ‘I am a Chosen, and that was how the man opened the door of the car and dropped me.”

But the question many people were asking was: How did Opeyemi come about knowledge of the Church, which he previously knew nothing about?

On how he was brought to Chosen ground in Ijesha by sympathisers who saw him where he was abandoned, Opeyemi said: “As people gathered around me, they asked me where I was going. I told them that I was going to Chosen, and that was how they brought me to Ijesha, where the Lord’s Chosen Church is located.

“As I arrived here, the church leaders gathered to pray for me. While they were conducting the deliverance, I saw myself inside a pool of water with red colour and I heard a voice saying to me, ‘I have washed all your problems away, including your sins. In that condition, my eyes opened. I then realised I was dreaming.”

However, the problem here is that Opeyemi has refused to return to his parents, insisting that he wants to be with the church.

When The Guardian sought to know why, he replied: “As I regained myself, the church asked me to go back to my parents, but I told them that I am not going back and since that time I have been with the church. ”

An elated Mrs. Omope Olutade, Opeyemi’s mother, who said she has become a member of the church, was also present while her son was giving testimony at the just concluded two-day international crusade with the theme: “Wonder Working God,” held at the Chosen ground, Ijesha, Lagos. She thanked the Lord for using the church to intervene in her family’s affairs. The church had taken steps to confirm Opeyemi’s identity by going to see his parents, as well as visit his former school in Iyana Ipaja.

Opeyemi, the fourth child in the family of five, has joined the evangelism team of the Lord’s Chosen and now prays for people.
