The newly elected state chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, thanked Allah for making it possible. He promised to serve the interests of transport workers in the state and ensure commuters’ safety, timely and affordable transport fare.
According to him, part of his agenda is to ensure commercial bus drivers obey the rules and regulations of the Lagos State traffic law while anyone caught fomenting trouble among union members or extorting motorists will face the wrath of the law.
“I will also put an end to the issue of drivers drinking before driving, selling of alcoholic drink in bus parks, while an emergency call line would be introduced for the public to have access to the union authorities to report any misconduct of members.
“Every local government area will have NURTW call line, where Lagosians can make suggestions, complain and report the misconduct of our members or any issue concerning the union. Immediately we receive such reports, I can assure you we will sprung into action,” he vowed.
