Bello to focus on infrastructure with N12b IGR yearly
With N1 billion monthly Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in his kitty, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has promised to focus on infrastructure and human capital development in the second term.
Kogi’s IGR is reportedly N12 billion yearly (N1 billion monthly).
Addressing State House Correspondents after a closed-door meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, yesterday, Bello said the feat was achieved through a blockade of leakages that previously characterised the IGR system in the state.
The governor also dismissed the reports of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) which listed Kogi as the most corrupt state in the country, saying it was his government’s zero tolerance to graft that raised the revenue from N300 million to N1 billon monthly.
