Yesterday, His Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi of Ife via his Instagram and Twitter pages shared his proposed cure – traditional herbs – to the global pandemic, Coronavirus.

However, hours after he made his revelation, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) tweeted stating that people should “Beware of unverified messages on social media!”.

“These DO NOT protect against #COVID19:

*Consuming hot lemon, palm oil, ginger or garlic
*Gargling with salt water
*Drinking or spraying dettol on your body”

Furthermore, the Ooni’s message has sparked controversy on whether or not it’s high time we turned our searchlight on nature and the plants it produces.
