Enugu State’s Commissioner for Transport, Chief Mathias Ekweremadu, is dead.

Mathias is the younger brother of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

He died at the Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu. The cause of his death could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

A source in his office said he slumped while on duty and was rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Before his appointment as a commissioner in 2019, Ekweremadu, represented Aninri Constituency at the State House of Assembly.

He was also the Chairman of Aninri Local Council on different occasions.
