This is the general mandate God has given to man. However, to fulfil this general mandate, the specific mandate upon individual must be discovered. It is in the place of man’s assignment that man can take dominion.

Everybody at one point or the other came to understand he or she is existing, but purpose must be discovered. Man is saddled with responsibility of discovering his reason of existence. You may have been born naked, but no man was born empty. God thought it through before you were conceived.

Prophet Jeremiah said “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations” Jeremiah 1:5

Before your formation, you were known to God. Your design was according to His thought, and His plan for you is a good one.

For I know the thoughts that I that toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

Difference In Your Mandate

Mandate is that command and commission that authorises you to do what you do and be who you are. No President of a nation rules without the people’s mandate. It takes the people’s mandate to give him the power to govern and to rule them.

Prophet Isaiah spoke about the Lord Jesus Christ and His mandate.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of peace.

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this (Isaiah 9:6-7).

The mandate of Jesus Christ from the above is very clear. The government shall be upon His shoulder; for the increase of His government and peace, there shall be no end. He is sent to put in order and establish His Kingdom upon the earth with judgment and justice.

There is a marked difference in this mandate from every other patriarchs and prophets that has ever lived. The joy in and of our life is in the fulfilment of our assignment, which is specific and unique to individuals. The reason you were made is quite different from why I was made. We are all called to show forth the praise of Him Who has called us by displaying our unique differences.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9)

Everyone must understand that you are a signature of yourself. There is a stamp and an emblem of authority upon your life, and to display this authority or purpose is to affirm your mandate. If you do not recognise this truth, you may be a misfit in your generation. You were not sent to planet earth as an addendum. You are not an appendage; you are not here to complete the number. Rather, you were sent to contribute your own quota to your generation through the mandate and the purpose you were designed for. This mandate is different from every other person’s mandate.
