
The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Emmanuel Jime has said the present management would complete the Inland Dry Ports (IDPs), Vehicle Areas (VTAs), Border Information Centres (BICs) and other projects that his predecessor, Hassan Bello embarked upon.
He gave the assurance at the recent Federal Ministry of Transportation 2020 ministerial retreat in Lagos.
In a statement by the NSC’s Head of Public Relations, Rakiya Zubairu, Jime, who also presented a report of the organisation’s activities from 2019 to 2020, said the regulator has been ensuring effective regulation of the nation’s ports.
He commended the ministry for the retreat, stating that the initiative provided a unique opportunity for maritime agencies and officials to cross-fertilise ideas for a better maritime sector.
He further assured that the NSC would not relent in its effort to ensuring seamless transactions at the ports.
Other participating agencies were the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and ministry personnel.
