Fashion means different things to different people and it could b e different from culture to culture; continent to continent; and countries to countries. But is there what constitutes bad fashion even when some can appear distasteful? Fashion model, brand influencer and actress, Raheem Abike Halimah a.k.a Papaya Ex doesn’t think so.

According to her in this interview she said there’s nothing like bad fashion/

Hear her, “I don’t think there’s bad fashion. Fashion is diverse, more like people bringing different ideas to make something work out, so it just depends on who’s seeing it. So I think fashion can be weird but not bad because you ain’t used to that type of fashion idea.

Of course, many fashion aficionados, designers and models have affirmed that true fashion is what soothes the individual and that comfort is all that matters. But Harper’s Bazaar, a foremost fashion platform doesn’t agree in totality.

They state, “It’s easy to romanticize the style of past decades as always inspiring, elegant, and magical but in reality, bad fashion has been around since the start of mankind. If you’re still having PTSD from the traumatic trends of the early 2000s, take comfort in the fact that every other decade has also faced many questionable sartorial choices. From squeezing into corsets to exercising in leg warmers to accessorizing every outfit with a Von Dutch hat.” And they made a pictorial list of a roundup of the most cringe-worthy fashion trends from the past century.

Papaya Ex has explained her obsession with fashion and how her life’s journey has started as a joke but born out of passion and doing what she likes to do as a fashion-conscious person.

“I liked fashion and beauty from day one, then I decided to make it my career and so far so good, I haven’t regretted choosing this career path. Fashion is my lifestyle basically, it starts from what I wear and the clothes I find attractive. So my lifestyle is what speaks for me as a fashion model,” she said with pride.

“I didn’t plan to go into it actually, I just started by posting pictures like a random pretty girl then along the line, people fell in love with my content, little by little, I found myself in the industry. Generally, a fashion model to me is someone that has the ability to visualize fashion and bring style to life. So, for me as a person, fashion is my lifestyle,” she added.

Papaya Ex has multiple personalities when it comes to her career world. Among many other things, she is also an actor. She started her acting career in 2019 doing mostly short films and skits and shot into the limelight in 2020, when she starred in a short movie titled “Two Way Street”.

She creates content, influences brands and she is also a beauty expert who gets a big kick from making people beautiful.
