At least 15 people have been killed in attacks by gunmen on villages in Sokoto State, Governor Aminu Tambuwal said on Monday.

Tambuwal said the attacks were carried out in Goronyo and Illela local government areas of the state between Sunday and Monday.

The attacker killed 12 people in Illela. The other three were killed at Goronya.
