You are not of the world – Part 2

When a person has given his life to Christ and he says he is a new creature; he says all things have become new in his life; he says he is no longer walking in darkness; he says he is no longer bearing the fruits of darkness; he says he has nothing again to do with all the catalogues of sin we have in the Scripture and he says he is no longer doing the works of darkness. It then means that every work of darkness and all the evidences of people that walk in the darkness will no longer have a place in his life. So, what is it that has taken place in his life? Christ Has taken over his life and it is no longer he that lives, but Christ Who lives in him.
If you are a child of God and you have been crucified with Christ, you must have an understanding that it is no longer you that lives, but it is Christ in you. We are no longer talking about you, even though you may continue to bear your name, but there is a new master. There is a new controller, there is a new authority, there is a new owner, there is a Lord in your life and the name of that Lord is Jesus Christ. It is now about Christ and no longer about you, whether your name is Mary or Martha. Apostle Paul said I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. When you are crucified with Christ, you now become the address of Christ, the residence of Christ, Christ is alive in you and then the Apostle Paul went further to say that the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20b).
When you say Jesus is the Lord of your life, you mean that you have surrendered yourself to Him. Jesus owns you completely; He is the owner of your life and He is the Lord of your life. There is a song we sing that says, “It’s no longer I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me (2X). He lives, He lives, Jesus is alive in me! It’s no longer I that liveth but Christ that liveth in me.” You need to have this understanding. If you say you have given your life to Christ, it is no longer you. The old man is gone; whatever that old man was known for, he is out. He was an adulterer, he is out; he was a fornicator, he is out; he was a thief, he is out; he was a witch, he is out; he was a drunkard, he is out; he was a drug addict, any type of drug, he is out; he was ungodly, godless and proud, he is out; his pride is removed and the life of gentleness and humility takes over; he was hurting, he was disobedient, he was stubborn, he was rebellious and he was self-willed, that old man is gone, he is no longer there and there is a new man. This new man is Christ in you.
