Group advocates all Christian guber ticket in Taraba
The Fellowship of Churches of Christ in Nigeria (FCCN), also known as TEKAN, has challenged the electorate, especially Christians in Nigeria, to use their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) wisely in deciding the country’s President in 2023.
This was contained in a communiqué signed by the President, Rev. Caleb Ahima, and General Secretary, Rev Moses Ebuga, after the 66th General Assembly of TEKAN in Jos.
The communiqué urged all electorate to obtain their PVCs, register to become members of political parties and contest elections to be active in re-writing the narrative of the nation.
TEKAN urged its members to persevere in the face of persecution and temptation, be law-abiding and pray for the end of terrorism as well as the release of those in captivity.
IN the same vein, Taraba State chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has been called upon to work round the clock to ensure a Christian/Christian ticket in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
The group believes that it is high time the leadership of CAN stood tall by ensuring that both the incoming governor and his deputy are Christians.
The call, which came yesterday from the state chapter of Concerned Christian Youths (CCY), was reportedly necessitated by the ongoing feud between the state chapter of Muslim Council of Nigeria (MCN) and the state government.
