Dogara commends NBA over electronic voting, new secretariat
The Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara, has commended the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), for adopting electronic voting to elect its national leadership.
Dogara who spoke on Friday in Abuja at the inauguration of the NBA national secretariat complex said the leadership of the association deserved commendation for erecting an ultra modern edifice.
“This occasion marks yet another milestone in the consistent and progressive strides of excellence by the association.
“This edifice is the crowning glory and insignia of the nobility of the legal profession in Nigeria.
“Only a few days ago, the association elected its national leadership in a free and fair election, in a socio- political environment where free, fair and credible election is still a scarce commodity.
“For the NBA, credible elections have become a tradition and I urge that we sustain this path of honour, ” Dogara said.
The speaker urged members of the legal profession to avail the nation the benefit of their competences and culture of excellence.
He said that input of the NBA would fast track the current drive to diversify the economy and return the nation to the path of true development.
