The Rector, Femi Omokungbe, represented by Sub-dean of the Department of Mass Communication, Mr. Sule Olatunji, applauded the students for using their creativity to fight against fake lifestyles on social media, as many youths are being carried away by the illusion presented on social media.

He said: “This has been the best photo exhibition so far in the history of students’ exhibition at YABATECH, and I really commend the aura of teamwork emitting from the students, to ensure that the exhibition is a success. I really appreciate the student’s hard work and creativity; it is good to see that they are able to use pictures to pass strong and meaningful messages to our society. It is impressive how they dissuade youths from patronising the hoaxes that social media flaunts.”

With over 72 pieces of photo art on display, the students were able to communicate effectively the irony of the exuberant and luxurious lifestyle constantly displayed on social media.

Olatunji called on other departments in the college to take a cue from the department of mass communication to motivate the students to live up to their potential.
