The major objective of any nuclear energy programme is the protection of workers, people and environment wherever such nuclear facilities are sited.

Chairman of Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC), Prof. Yusuf Ahmed, stated this in his welcome address during a three-day workshop, yesterday, at the Centre for Energy Research and Training (CERT), Zaria, Kaduna State.

At the training workshop, experts under the ambit of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC) are brainstorming on the security of Nigeria’s nuclear facilities, after 18 years of successful operation.

They are addressing the Safety, Security and Safeguards of Nuclear facilities in the country.
