In an age of experimental movies ruling the roost, the romantic comedy, ‘Mike and Dave Needs Wedding Date’ is another mild one to the list. Written by Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, the movie is produced by Jake Szymanski. The Hollywood, the block-buster, is a take on the two brothers — Mike and Dave — who were alcohol salesmen, but went all the way to publish an advert online all because they needed a date for their little sister’s wedding in Hawaii, which was fast approaching.

The premiere was a huge blast for the upscale Filmhouse Cinema, Surulere, as so many movie lovers were present at the event including some of Nigerian celebrities, who walked the Red carpet.

Alice and Tatiana who were dates to the brothers joined them to perform a second song, which the family disliked. Tatiana and Mike started a relationship together, while Alice deletes her wedding video before making out with Dave in front of everyone.

The 98 minutes movie ended with a happy note, as the audience, were thrilled when Mike and Dave performed a heartfelt song to apologise for all the problems they caused, which touched their family. The audiences exited the hall with smiles on their faces.

Some guests who spoke with reporter said the movie is a must see for all. According to a lady, who wants her name print, she would watch the movie over and over again because it made her laugh all through.

For Nelson, he never expected the movie to be interesting, adding that he heard about the premiere while he was in the mall and he decided to join his friends who wanted to see the movie.

Jude, another middle age man, also made a positive comment about the movie, saying that it was one of the best he had seen in 2016. According to him, “the storyline is matured unlike what we see in most Nollywood movies. I wouldn’t mind paying to watch the movie over again,” he said.
