Saint Square unveils music recording haven in Lagos

It was a sight of wonder, as a respected music record company, Saint Square Records, last weekend officially launched its multi-million Naira recording studio in the heart of Lagos.

According to its Managing Director, Jason Olakunle, the studio, which was named after the record label, was built to groom talented young children in the country to further help them harness their singing abilities and to discover themselves.

He also said that the recording studio was set up in line with the company’s mantra, which is to breed life into the entertainment space.

“It was a dream by our Chief Executive Officer, Saint Square records, Mr Square Okusanya hence the name Saint Square records. He is someone who lived in Nigeria with us and still is in Nigeria with us but he travels a lot as we speak. But the dream was born because he observed things and in his main travels, he has seen so many things that the entertainment industry can do for a country.

“Back in our days, when we were much younger, entertainment shaped our culture. The music of the day, such as Sonny Okosun, among others, were the songs that formed the values of our time, and if you ever wonder about the way we are right now and the generation we are stepping into right now, think about what is dominant in the entertainment sphere or rather in the media sphere.”

Olakunle noted that the label, which was founded a year ago, currently has four gospel artists, which would also complement its roster of secular artistes as well.
