The Director-General, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Prof. Ayo Omotayo, has said he received news of the attack on three final-year students of Government Science School (GSS), Kuru, Jos South of Plateau State, with shock.

A statement, yesterday, by the Head, Public Affairs Department of NIPPS, Sola Adeyanju, quoted the DG as saying that the incident was very disheartening that it happened when the students stepped out of the school for shopping, leading to the death of one, while two sustained gunshot injuries.

According to the statement, as a responsible organisation, NIPSS condemns the unwarranted and cowardly attack on innocent students, while commiserating with the management and staff of the school.

“He is also commiserating with the parents of the attacked students, particularly the parents of the student that lost his life in the attack. The DG feels the pain of parenthood and prays God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
