In a statement, yesterday, the Chairman of Nasarawa Ward 1, Ibrahim Na Mazaba, said, in Birnin Kebbi, that the suspension became necessary because Saidu had allegedly been practising anti-party activities and acted outside the party’s constitution.
He added that the suspension was a result of the Nasarawa Ward 1 executive committee meeting, last Saturday, which recommended disciplinary actions against the candidate.
“The state executive committee should be duly and adequately informed of the inappropriate conduct and anti-party activities of Mallam Haruna Saidu for appropriate disciplinary actions,” he said.
Saidu was accused of creating confusion in the party after the defection of Sen. Adamu Aliero from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP.
Briefing journalists, yesterday, in his office, the party’s secretary, who expressed dismay over the activities of Saidu, urged him to stop the anti-party activities.
“We are ready to take any legal action against him since the fresh election had been conducted in Kebbi Central and Kebbi South. He should allow peace to reign,” he said.
The Guardian gathered that Saidu was initially given the PDP Senatorial ticket for Kebbi Central seat where Aliero came from. But after Aliero’s defection to PDP, he was told to relinquish the ticket to Aliero.
