Nigerians have been urged to actively participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to procure Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as a requirement for electing credible leaders in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Obinna Onwubuariri, the former member of the House of Representatives, made the call shortly after receiving his Certificate of Return (CR) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last week.

Onwubuariri, the candidate for Okigwe North Federal Constituency, assured that votes would count in the 2023 elections against what was obtained in previous polls.

He expressed confidence that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will conduct free, fair, transparent and credible elections.

He added: “People are desirous of credible 2023 polls and are committed to protecting their mandate.”

The ex-federal lawmaker stated that people are fed up with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and now see PDP as an alternative to bank their votes on for a better Nigeria.”

He described the forthcoming polls as an opportunity for his constituents to reclaim their mandate by rooting their support and voting for PDP.

He used the opportunity to assure the Okigwe North people of effective representation if elected.

He stressed that having been at the green chambers before, he would explore his wealth of experience and contacts to attract the desired developments to the area.

Onwubuariri thanked the party, especially the National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and the delegates for their contributions and support during the party primaries.

“I thank Anyanwu, the party and delegates for their support during the primaries. I also thank them for finding me worthy to fly our party’s flag for the election. By the grace of God, I would win, and when I do, I would not let you down,” he said.
