The Bishops of Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province have urged Christian faithful to pray for the commemoration of the tragic attack on worshippers of Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State, on the Pentecost Sunday, June 5, 2022.

They said that special prayer and fasting should be observed for the departed souls on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
Besides, the bishops urged rosary prayer and procession, as well as prayer against bribery and corruption in Nigeria and Nigerians in distress to be concluded with holy mass or adoration and benediction.

Archbishop of Ibadan, Most Rev. Gabriel ’Leke Abegunrin, in a statement, stressed that the faithful should conclude the same programme as prescribed on Sunday, July 10, 2022.

“We must do all in our power to bring our country back to the path of justice, peace and the fear of God. We earnestly urge all the faithful in our Ecclesiastical Province, therefore, to join this prayer crusade for the mercy of God and strength for the church and all the faithful,” the statement stated.
