He said the two suspects, identified as Caleb Zulfa Wuyer and Niman Yonkur Manwat, were arrested with 2,968 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition at Makera in Riyom.
According to the source, the suspects were intercepted en route Mabudi in Langtang South Local Council.
Preliminary investigation, according to the source, revealed that they were major suppliers of weapons to bandits operating in Wase and Kanam, adding that they confessed their involvement in the criminal deal.
The suspects are reportedly in the custody of the OPSH undergoing interrogation.
All efforts to speak with the Military Information Officer (MIO) of OPSH, Maj. Ishaku Takwa, were not successful, as he neither picked the calls put to him nor responded to messages to him.
