Recycling of corrupt and selfish leaders has been identified as a major problem bedevilling Nigeria, hence there is an urgent need to give room for skilled, capable young leaders with strong ideologies to rule the country.

Ibeno Zonal Chairman/Big Town Area Superintendent of The Apostolic Church of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom Territory, Apostle Ime Etukudo, made the declaration, on Sunday, in a chat with The Guardian.

Etukudo expressed the need to break the leadership cabal and change the political strategies of the country to give room for young ones to come in.

He said the timely solution the country needs is a vibrant young youth with workable solutions to Nigeria’s problem and a leader, who will not be on constant medical tourism to tackle health challenges.

Etukudo asked Nigerians to shun money politics and vote for candidates with ideas to tackle corruption, revamp refineries and build new ones.

He lamented rising unemployment and the lack of infrastructure such as a road network.

“There are young good leaders that will rule this country well; let a new breed of leadership come in and start something afresh in this country. We should stop recycling old politicians. Corrupt leaders still coming into power is our problem at 62. No political ideologies, no leaders that can bring new ideas. We should also stop money politics but ensure the right people come to power.”

Etukudo called for zoning of all political offices, stressing that no section of the country should hold on to power.

He called on the electorate to come out en masse during elections and vote for candidates with the interest of citizens at heart.

In the same vein, the Presiding Pastor, Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Apostle Lawrence Achudume, enjoined Nigerians to have hope in the country.

Schedule asked Nigerians to stop praising political office holders, saying many of them lack governance skills and competence.
