As the nation make its 56th Independence anniversary today, Yemi Olatunji, a gospel singer (a.k.a. YEMY tpx) has released a new song titled, Naija Go Smile, to commemorate the occasion and inspire Nigerians to believe greater days are here for the country.

Olatunji’s music could best be described as Afro-urban contemporary music, though some people refer to it as trado-contemporary music.

He said: “The song is not just strategic, but also a divine mandate because only God truly understands our pains and from Him comes our salvation in this looming doom.”

Released in 2014, the song has been rebranded and reworked to address pressing challenges facing Nigerians and also to give people a sense of hope.

For the anniversary celebration, the singer invites Nigerians to spread the message of hope by uploading on social media pictures of themselves with a cardboard or paper inscribe with the hastag #NAIJA GO SMILE.
