Imo East Senatorial District Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Uche Onyeagucha, has unveiled plans to effectively represent the nine local councils in the Senatorial zone, promising to propose a bill to tackle corruption in the housing property sector, via sponsorship of Property Verification Number (PVN) bill.

According to him, a digitized system whereby any property owner would have a PVN was necessary to fight corruption in the country.

Also, the environmental rights activist kicked against the system and law that empowers the President to appoint the key officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), saying if he is elected, he would propose a bill to change the narrative.

Making known his agenda entitled: “My Legislative Covenant With nde Owerri zone,” the former House of Representatives member of Owerri Federal Constituency (under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), maintained that he would move to correct the corruption in the sector, making it possible to ensure that only the persons who duly acquire properties legitimately are only entitled to own them.

He said: “I would propose a bill for PVN (Property Verification Number). It will be in assets, dividends and whatever, to curb corruption. If introduced today, many people will begin to drop the illegal acquisition of property.”

At the ceremony attended by the Imo State PDP Chairman, Charles Ugwuh; the Secretary of the party in the state, Ray Emeana; a two-term former Imo State House of Assembly member, PDP, Ezinihitte Mbaise Constituency.
