Singer, Victor Barnabas Nanribetmun bette known as Lucid, has opened up on his desire to work with Nigerian songstress, Asa.
The Plateau born artiste said: “I will love to work with Asa because she is a big inspiration to me.I connect with her sound deeply and I look forward to an opportunity to work with her”.
The O’ Records artiste also stated that he believes he was born to do music.
“I believe I was born to do music. Music is who I am and I don’t think I can live without music.I see music as a tool to touch lives and use it to put smile on people’s faces
Lucid also counsel artistes to stay away from controversies.
“A good name is better than riches. We as artistes should do whatever it takes to stay away from controversies. Being controversial can get you noticed today, but ti can’t take you to the top of your career. We all need to be careful”.
Asked about the most controversial thing he has ever heard about himself, Lucid stated: “Some people say I am rude, proud and unfriendly. I may have that look, but I am truly not that kind of person .I am that kind of person you will love to be with. I don’t pay attention to such things though. My focus is on my music, on how to make songs that will remain evergreen. That is my overall vision”.
Shedding light on his style of music, the pleasant crooner said his music is lucid, free and genuine. “My genre of music is Afrobeats. But I will describe my style as free, lucid, genuine and dynamic”.
Going down memory lane, Lucid said he decided to focus more on singing when he was in secondary school.
I have been singing since I was eleven years old. I used to rap in primary school. Then I combined rapping and singing in Junior Secondary School. I however decided to focus more on my singing talent in my senior secondary school years. I joined a group back then and I was the only singer amongst talented the rappers”.
